Kettering board removes district leaders from posts

The superintendent and the treasurer for Kettering City Schools have been relieved of their duties by the school board.

The board voted unanimously in a special session Tuesday morning to put Superintendent Jim Schoenlein and Treasurer Steve Clark on paid administrative leave, effectively immediately.

The cause for the action was not entirely clear. According to a district statement, the action was taken after the board did “an extensive review of a management situation, and issues impacting students are not involved in any way.”

“The board cannot provide the specific reasons for this action today, as further review is necessary,” according to the statement.
