The city of Dayton is no longer being considered to house illegal immigrant children.
Republican Rep. Mike Turner says the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has suspended its search for temporary housing while undocumented kids await deportation hearings.
The department contacted Dayton and several other cities across the nation asking them to submit recommendations for housing solutions last month.
Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley expressed willingness to welcome those children which was met with criticism from many local and national leaders.

Released illegal alien arrested for murder
An illegal immigrant who was released by U.S. authorities with a Notice to Appear has been arrested for the alleged murder of a woman and kidnapping of children on U.S. soil. The alleged crimes occurred after the man was released.
The man, Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas, entered the U.S. illegally with children and turned himself in to U.S. Border Patrol agents. He was processed and released, as are all illegal immigrants who come as unaccompanied minors or incomplete family units from Central America. The alien is from Honduras.

Governor Malloy denies feds’ request to house illegal immigrant children in Connecticut
The administration of Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-WFP) has denied a request from federal officials to temporarily house up to 2,000 illegal immigrant children from Central America at a residence in his state for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Citing concerns about the condition of the aging Southbury Training School, the difficulties associated with caring for over 300 developmentally disabled clients, and legal and procedural hurdles, Connecticut’s state Office of Policy and Management (OPM) wrote to the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) New England regional offices on Monday, indicating that Connecticut could not assist them.

U.S. says deportation of Honduran children a warning to illegal migrants
The White House said on Tuesday that Central Americans trying to cross the U.S. border should know “they will not be welcome to this country,” a day after the United States deported a planeload of women and children to Honduras.
A charter flight on Monday from New Mexico to San Pedro Sula, the city with the highest murder rate in the world, transported 17 Honduran women, as well as 12 girls and nine boys between the ages of 18 months and 15 years.

Dayton’s Mayor Nan Whaley has told us she favors relocating children here, and she urges Congress to pass President Obama’s request for $3.7 billion for immigrant services. But others demand that the borders be closed immediately and many favor sending children back to their home countries.
